eLifeMap Challenge

Ⅰ. eLifeMap Challenge Regulation

1. Overview of the competition

Break away form simple Internet searches and find and use useful information that can be helpful or interesting for youth with disabilities. Enhance the ability to access information in the multimedia society by fostering advanced search techniques such as image search beyond simple text search.

2. Classification : Individual Competition

3. Types of Disabililties : Developmental, Hearing, Physical, Visual Impairment

Difficulty of test is different according to type of disabilities (Developmental / Non-developmental)

4. Challenge Composition : 50 minutes for 10 questions ( 70 minutes for screen reader users)

5. Direction of question

Complex questions that search for useful search methods or useful information in life

Leverage social issues, search issues such as people in portal services

Ⅱ. Equipment operating regulations

  • Participating teams can only use equipment
    provided by the GITC Organizing Committee
    (mobile phones, computers, laptops,software
    programs, educational materials, ect.)
  • Software used4
    browsers based on Window 7
    Internet Explorer 10, Mozila Firefox, Safari, Chrome
  • Software for Visually impaired
    youth with disabilities : Jaws, NVDA

Ⅲ. Submission Rules

Write the English answer and change the file name of the answer to the participant’s unique code, and save it on the desktop

Ⅳ. Scoring Criteria

1. Scoring Criteria

All question are asked as O/X questions, and if the link is not included, it will be decided as worng answer

If the contents of the link participants wrote can prove O/X, acknowledge it as correct

The scorers acknowledge the correct answer if it is not a link given in a best answer but a link with similar content

Partial scores are not given

2. Corrective handling criteria

Only acknowledge the correct answer if the attached site can prove O/X

Accept answers found in Wikipedia, blogs, cafes, ect.

In addition to the answers provided by the examiner, the correct site may be different, and other decisions will be made according to the decision of the judge on the same day.

3. Criteria for the treatment of ties

  • 1st Priority

    Participants with severe disabilities
  • 2nd Priority

    Participants whose birth date is late

Ⅴ. Fraud

1. Scoring Criteria

  • In case of an act that interferes with other participants
  • In case of an unauthorized exit form a seat

2. Disqualification measures

  • In case of three or more precautions
  • If the position assigned
    to each participant is not used
  • If the participant use the media
    that can share with others,
    such as email or Facebook
  • If the participant use other
    equipment than the provided PC
  • If the participant use a program
    other than the one installed
  • Other external storage devices,
    such as USB memory
